What’s new: The 2021 Chevy Equinox

Wondering what’s new with the 2021 Chevy Equinox? Fear not, we have you covered. The latest model year of the Chevy Equinox actually doesn’t add anything. Instead, it removes some features to make things even more streamlined. The new Chevy Equinox drops the once available 2.0-liter turbocharged engine while keeping everything else the same. That’s right, the new Chevy Equinox is available in the same four trim levels (L, LS, LT, and Premier) and offers drivers a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine.

Performance

Powering all trim levels of the 2021 Chevy Equinox is a 1.5-liter inline-4 engine. Same as the previous model year, the 1.5-liter inline-4 engine makes 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. Versatility abounds thanks to available all-wheel drive (front-wheel drive is standard), a 6-speed automatic transmission, and a start/stop system.

Interior Highlights

Even the base trim level of the new Jeep Cherokee provides drivers with a surprisingly modern set of interior features to enjoy. The Equinox L includes a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and 4G LTE Wi-Fi connectivity. Additionally, the new Chevy Equinox includes a variety of standard driver assistance features. Forward-collision warning (with automatic emergency braking), lane-keeping assist, and lane-departure warning all fall into standard driver assistance features. What about a higher trim level, you ask? The Chevy Equinox makes its most dashing bid in its top-level Premier trim. The Equinox Premier includes leather-trimmed seats, heated front seats, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display, and dual-zone automatic climate control. Other upgradeable highlights include a Bose premium sound system, a navigation system, a panoramic sunroof, and a rear-seat entertainment system.
