What’s new to the 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500

The 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 adds a new multi-flex tailgate, a new camera trailering system, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, and a host of new safety features. The new multi-flex tailgate features six adjustable positions; with some notable positions including a standing workstation and step ladder. The Chevy Silverado 1500 also adds a new host of available driver assistance features for the lower trims. The Chevy Silverado 1500 WT trim now comes with available driver assistance features like automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, front pedestrian braking, front/rear park assist, rear cross traffic alert, and lane change alert with side blind zone alert. The 2021 model year also adds increased towing capability.

2021 Chevy Silverado Power & Performance Options

From three transmission options to five engines and available all-wheel drive, the new Chevy Silverado 1500 boasts a wide array of performance features for drivers to consider. The base WT trim doesn’t skimp on the power, boasting a standard V6 engine that manages 285 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque. Next in line is a 2.7-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine that manages 310 horsepower and 348 pound-feet of torque. Jumping to the 5.3-liter V8 engine will ensure drivers an even more powerful Silverado 1500, which produces 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. As far as gas engines go, the most powerful variant is a 6.2-liter V8 that provides 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The new Chevy Silverado 1500 also features a single diesel engine, which is a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 variant that produces 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The new Chevy Silverado also includes available all-wheel drive, standard rear-wheel drive, and a choice between 6-,8-, and 10-speed automatic transmissions.
