2023 Buick Encore GX Performance and Efficiency

Since the 2023 Buick Encore will be similar to the 2022 model, we have a good idea of what it will include. The Encore GX has two engine options to choose from. The base engine is a 1.2-liter turbocharged, producing 137 horsepower. Or there is a 1.3-liter turbocharged engine that results in 155 horsepower. If you choose the first engine option, you’ll get an automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drive. Opting for the more robust engine gets you a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

Which engine you select also impacts your fuel efficiency. If you choose a configuration with the 1.3-liter engine, front-wheel drive, and CVT, you’ll get around 32 mpg on the highway. Choosing the 1.2-liter engine with the same setup results in 30 mpg, while the 1.3-liter and all-wheel drive produce 29 mpg on the highway.

One of the first things you’ll notice upon entering the 2023 Buick Encore GX is its spacious and luxurious cabin. The 2022 model featured leather upholstery, plenty of passenger space, and even heated seats for more comfort on those colder days.
